How to play Tong-its

Three players, one 52-card deck. Empty your hand by forming melds, or hold the fewest points when the round is called. The dealer holds 13 and starts; turns go clockwise; the winner deals next.

Your turn

• Draw from the draw pile — or from the discard only if its top card completes a meld for you (that meld goes straight to the table).
• Arrange & meld — drag cards to reorder, drag them together in the tray to build groups. A green group is a legal meld: lay it, or keep it in hand.
• Discard one card (drag it onto the discard pile, or arm + Discard) to end your turn.

Melds

• Set: 3–4 same rank, different suits. Run: 3+ in sequence, same suit (Ace low).
• Sapaw: tap a card to arm it, then tap a glowing table meld to add it.

Winning

• Tongits: empty your hand — instant win.
• Call: allowed only when a full cycle passes with no new meld and no sapaw on the table. Lowest points wins.
• Never laid a meld on the table? You're burned — can't call or win. Melds kept in hand don't count at the tally.
